The site has a dynamic role and is a source for building materials and is the energy for construction. It is linked interdependent systems combining essential resources because materials are available in nature.
Transportation was difficult and expensive before the industrialization era and construction materials so the construction materials came from the location around the building lot. The plot provided space for piling and stocking materials. Energy & fuel were limited and techniques were handed down through craft and tradition. The cost of materials was a greater component of economic value than the direct costs of building. This type of production conformed to the economic pattern of traditional societies.
